Feature Descriptions

8 & 30 List Speed Calling

 
 
Speed Calling allows you to call selected 
directory numbers by dialing a one or two digit code.  
The directory numbers are programmed into the system and are stored in 
either an 8-code or a 30-code list, depending upon 
the type of Speed Calling assigned. 
 
Benefits:  
Eliminates the need to look up or remember telephone numbers.  Saves time when 
dialing number, especially long distance numbers.  Allows fast, accurate 
dialing of emergency numbers.
 
To Set Up to Use: 
(8 Number Option) Dial 74# for 1-Digit Speed Calling (codes 2-9)   
(30 Number Option)  Dial 75# for 2-Digit Speed Calling (codes 20-49).  
Listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone.  
Enter Speed Calling code (2-9 or 20-49).  
Dial desired telephone number, depress # then listen for three beeps.  Hang up.
 
To Use:  
Dial desired Speed Calling code (2-9 or 20-49), then depress # .

Anonymous Call Rejection

 
 
Anonymous Call Rejection rejects calls to your phone number automatically
when a caller has activated Caller ID blocking.  The caller will hear a telephone company recorded
announcment that instructs them to "unblock" their number if they wish to call you.
 
Benefits:  
Allows you to block calls from people who will not identify themselves.  
Enhances security and privacy.
 
To Use: 
Lift the receiver and listen for dial tone.  Press *77. Listen for a confirmation tone or
announcement that the service is turned on.
To cancel.  Lift the receiver and listen for dial tone.  Press *87.  Listen for a 
confirmation tone or announcement that the service is turned off.

Automatic Call Back or *69

 
 
Automatic Call Back allows you to dial a code
and have a call automatically returned to the last party who called or 
attempted to call you.
 
Benefits:  
Eliminates the aggravation of rushing to the phone when you've returned 
home or in the shower only to find that you've just missed the call.
 
To Use:  
Dial *69, you will hear a message telling you the number of the last 
incoming call, along with the time and date of call.  
If you wish to return the call, 
Press 1.  
If you do not wish to return the call, hang up.  
If the line is busy, a voice message will inform you.  Hang up.  
Your telephone will keep trying to reach the number for 30 minutes.  
You will hear a short-short-long ring when the line is free, and the call will 
automatically be made when you lift the handset.

Call Forwarding All

 
 
Call Forwarding All automatically forwards all your calls
to another telephone number.
 
Benefits:  
You won't miss important calls.
 
To Use:  
Dial *72 then listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone.
Dial the telephone number to which calls will be forwarded,
when party answers, advise party of call forwarding.
All calls will then forward to the number.  If party does
not answer, or line is busy, repeat procedure immediately. 
Listen for beeps and dial tone, hang up.  Call forwarding will 
be active.  Your telephone will ring once each time your
number is called to remind you that call forwarding is active.
You cannot answer the calls.  To cancel, dial *73.
You can still call out with call forwarding active.

Call Forwarding Busy Line

 
 
Call Forwarding Busy Line automatically forwards your calls
to another telephone number if your line is busy.
The activation/deactivation of this feature may  be controlled by you
(variable) or Telco- controlled (fixed).

To Use:
Dial *90 then listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone. 
Dial the telephone number to which calls will be forwarded,

busy, repeat procedure immediately.  Listen for beeps and dial tone,
hang up.  Call forwarding will be active.  To cancel, dial *91.

Call Forwarding No Answer

 
 
Call Forwarding No Answer forwards your calls to another
telephone number only after a specified number of rings and there
is no answer.
The activation/deactivation of this feature may be 
controlled by you (variable) or Telco-controlled (fixed).
 
Benefits:  
You won't miss important  calls just because you were not
there or can't get to the phone.
 
To Use:  
Dial *92 then listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone.
Dial the telephone number to which calls will be forwarded, 
when party answers, advise party of call forwarding.  
All non-answered calls will then forward to the number.  If party 
does not answer, or line is busy, repeat procedure immediately.  
Listen for beeps and dial tone, hang up.  Call forwarding will
be active.  To cancel, dial *93.  You can still call out with 
call forwarding active.

Call Hold

 
 
Call Hold allows you to put any call
in progress on hold in order to initiate a second call, answer
a waiting call, consult privately with another party, or return
to a previously held call.  If a second call is established, 
the subscriber who initiates it (the controlling party,
or controller), may alternate between calls.  The two calls may
not be conferenced, and only one call may be held at a time.
 
Benefits:  
Providing a saving on equipment and money.
 
To Use:  
Press you hookswitch.

Call Transfer

Call Transfer allows you to transfer any
established call to another phone and drop out of the conversation.
 
Benefits:  
The parties do not need to redial to reestablish the connection.
 
To Use:  
Press hookswitch.

Call Waiting & Cancel Call Waiting

 
 
Call Waiting provides a burst of tone to inform  
you, when a call is in progress on your line, that another 
call has terminated to that line and is waiting to be answered.  
The call waiting tone is heard only on the terminating line.
 
Benefits:  
You can answer the incoming call and talk privately without
losing the original party.  You can also alternate between parties.
 
To Use:  
To end the first conversation and begin the second just hang up.  
Your telephone will immediately ring back with the second call.  
To put the first call on "hold", press and release the hookswitch.  
You are now connected with the second call.  To return to your 
first call, press and release the hookswitch again.  
You can switch back and forth between callers as often as you like.

Cancel Call Waiting allows you to disable 
Call Waiting for the duration of one telephone call.
 
Benefit:  
To not be interrupted by the call waiting tones.
Good only for one call.
 
To Use:  
Press *70, listen for three beeps, then dial tone.  
Dial the number you want to call.

Caller ID Plus

 
 
Caller ID Plus lets you see the calling
party's phone number and name before answering a call.  
A special display device located on or by your phone is required to 
allow you to view the calling number and name.
 
Benefits:  
You can see the number and name of the person calling before you answer your phone.
 
To Use:  
You need to purchase a device to attach to your phone that displays 
name and number.  Call Allendale Telephone to add service to your line.

Caller ID

 
 
Caller ID lets you see the calling party's 
phone number before answering a call.  A special display device located 
on or next to your phone is required to allow you to view the calling number.

You can see the number calling you before you answer your phone.

Distinctive Ringing

 
 
Distinctive Ringing allows you to program your telephone line 
to ring with a special ringing pattern whenever you are called from a select 
list of phone numbers.  Your phone will ring with a normal ringing 
pattern for all other calling numbers.  If you also have Call waiting, 
you will hear a distinctive Call Waiting tone whenever someone on your list 
calls you while you are on the phone.
 
Benefits:  
Allows you to identify special and important calls.  Helps you determine who's calling.
 
To Use:  
Press *61.  Listen to the voice instructions which will guide you through 
the steps of how to turn Priority  Ring on or off  and make changes to 
your Priority Ringing list.

Do Not Disturb

 
 
Do Not Disturb allows you to prevent incoming calls
from ringing your line by diverting them to a busy tone.
The feature may be implemented in one of three ways:  1) without a 
Personal Identification Number (PIN) override option; 2) with a PIN override 
that is fixed (such as a PIN override programmed by the Telephone Company);
 or 3) with a PIN override that is variable (set and changed by the subscriber).
 
Benefits:  
Prevents unwanted interruptions, particularly solicitation calls.  
You can still receive important calls.  Selected callers can still reach 
you by dialing you PIN code.
 
To Use:  
To activate this feature, dial *78.  To deactivate this feature, dial *79.  
To program your PIN, dial *10, enter PIN Number after the beep (1 to 7 numbers 
of your choice), depress the # button to accept the PIN Number.  
When callers receive a busy signal, they can enter the PIN Number to 
override Do Not Disturb.

Distinctive Ringing

 
 
Distinctive Ringing gives a special ring for specified callers.
 
To Use:
Dial *61.  Listen to voice instructions to turn off/on and how to make
changes to your priority ringing list.  Press 3 for off/on.

Repeat Dialing

 
 
Repeat Dialing allows you to dial a code to
have your phone continuously attempt to redial a busy number that you 
tried to call.  When the line is free, you will be alerted with a 
special ringing, and a call will automatically be made.  
You can also use Repeat Dialing to redial the last number you called.
 
Benefits:  
Eliminates the frustration of continuously redialing numbers and receiving 
annoying busy signals.  Removes the need to look up or remember the 
phone number during redial attempts.
 
To Use:  
After you receive a busy signal, hang up or press the hookswitch, 
dial *66, then hang up again.  
Your phone will keep trying to ring the number for 30 minutes, unless you 
deactivate (*86) Repeat Dialing.

Selective Call Acceptance

 
 
Selective Call Acceptance allows you to screen incoming
calls by creating a list of phone numbers from which you are willing to 
accept calls.  Calls from phone numbers not contained on your list are sent 
to an announcement that informs the caller that you are not receiving 
calls at this time.
 
Benefits:  
Enhances security and privacy by allowing only the most important calls 
to reach you.  Prevents unwanted interruptions, particularly solicitations calls.
 
To Use:  
Press *64.  Listen to the voice instructions which will guide you through 
the steps of how to turn Call Acceptance on or off.  Make changes to 
your Selective Call Acceptance list.

Selective Call Forward

 
 
Selective Call Forward allows you to create a 
list of phone numbers that are to be forwarded when they call you.  
When you activate this service, and a call arrives from a phone number 
that is on your list , the call is forwarded.  All other calls will ring your 
phone in the normal fashion.
 
Benefits:  
Eliminates having to wait for important calls.  Your most important calls 
can be forwarded to a number where they can be answered.  You can leave your 
home or office and still receive urgent calls.
 
To Use:  
Press *63.  Listen to the voice instructions which will guide you through 
the steps of how to turn Selective Call Forwarding on or off.  Make changes 
to your Selective Call Forwarding list.  Voice instructions will also guide 
you through the steps of how to enter, confirm, or change the number to which 
your calls will be forwarded.

Selective Call Rejection (Call Screening)

 
 
Selective Call Rejection (Call Screening) allows you to create a list of
phone numbers from which you do not wish to receive calls.  Calls from phone 
numbers on your list are sent to an announcement that informs the caller 
that you are not receiving calls at this time.
 
Benefits:  
Allows you to block calls from people with whom you do not wish to speak.  
Enhances security and privacy.
 
To Use:  
Press *60.  Listen to the voice instructions which will guide you through 
the steps of how to turn Call Screening on or off.  Make changes to 
your Call Screening list.  After receiving an annoying call, you may wish 
to prevent that person from calling you in the future.  Call Screening's 
voice instructions will explain how to add the number of the last caller 
to your list (even if you do not know the party's number ).

Three Way Calling

 
 
Three-Way Calling allows a subscriber to add a third
party to an existing conversation.
 
Benefits:  
Reduces the need for callbacks when 
trying to confirm plans and schedules.  
 
To Use:  
Make the first call then press and release the hookswitch to put your
first call on hold.  You will hear three beeps and then dial tone.  
Dial the number of the third party you wish to add to the call.  
When the call is answered, press and release the hookswitch to 
complete the three way call.
 
Rates:            $2.00/Monthly      
 

Toll Control with Pin (*13)

 
 
Toll Control with Pin blocks all toll calls unless an override
code and pin are used.
 
The default PIN is 1234.  See below to reset this PIN to your own
selection.  Your PIN may be from 2 to 7 digits.
 
To Modify your PIN:
1.  Dial the PIN change access code (*12).
2.  Wait for dial tone.
3.  Dial the old PIN (1234).
4.  Wait for dial tone.
5.  Dial the new PIN (2-7 digits).
6.  Wait for confirmation tone.
 
Control with PIN feature:
1.  Dial Access Code (*13).
2.  Wait for a second dial tone.
3.  Dial your PIN and press #.
4.  Wait for dial tone.
5.  Dial the toll number you wish to call.

Voice/Data Protection

 
 
Voice/Data Protection allows a subscriber to inhibit intrusion 
features such as Call Waiting and Operator Verification that are directed to 
his/her line when it is busy.  
Voice data protection prevents data transmission errors caused by the interruption tones 
associated with these and other similar intrusion features.
 
Benefits:  
You will not get disconnected by any testing of the telephone line, 
calls or call waiting  while on the line with computer.
 
To Use:  
Call Allendale Telephone for service to be installed on your line.
 
Rates:  Free service to our customers.
 

Voice Mail

 
 
Voice Mail allows you to record, 
store and retrieve messages after a set number of rings, and/or if line 
is busy.  If you have messages, it notifies you, if programmed, at another telephone 
number of your choice.  You can call your Voice Mailbox 
from any telephone to receive or delete your messages, or change your recording.
  
Benefits:  
No answering machine maintenance or tangled tapes.
 
To Use:  
Dial your access number.  Press the # Button when your  recorded 
message starts.  Enter your password, then press the *.  Press 1 to listen 
to your messages.  Follow instructions to delete, review, etc.
 
Rates:              $3.00/Monthly    
 

Warm Line

 
 
Warm Line allows you to automatically 
place a call to a preselected directory number by simply lifting 
the receiver off the switchhook.  No dialing is required for the 
calling party to reach the specified destination.
 
Benefits:  
Warm line eliminates the need to remember emergency numbers,
emergency calls can be placed quickly and automatically,  
and it enhances safety and security for people who are alone 
(particularly children, elderly, or a sick relative).
 
 
To Use:  
Lift handset and wait. 
(Within 14 seconds the predesignated number will be dialed automatically.)  
If you do not wish to dial the predesignated number, 
you may dial any other number before 14 seconds have elapsed.

TOLL BARRED will not allow any long distance on a line
TOLL RESTRICTION 01  will not allow operator handled international calls
TOLL RESTRICTION 011 will not allow direct international calls
TOLL RESTRICTION 0-( Zero Minus) will not allow access to an operator
TOLL RESTRICTION 0+(Zero Plus the 10 digit number will not allow operator handled calls
TOLL RESTRICTION 1+(one plus the ten digit number) will not allow direct dialed calls
Bill To Third - Won't allow calls billed to your phone from another number
Collect Calls - Won't accept collect calls on your number
900 - Won't allow any 900 numbers to be made from your number
900 & 976 - Won't allow any adult numbers to be made from your number
