If you are currently using our Netscape 4.5, then you will just have to do steps 1-6. Netscape 4.5 setup will take the bookmarks, address books, and all other settings from your 4.0 version.
Once you are at your Windows desktop do the following:
- Put the CD in your CD Rom drive.
- If Netscape Setup Wizard automatically starts, then go to step 6, else continue on to step 3.
- Click on Start.
- Click on Run.
- Type d:\netscape\setup.exe, then click on OK.
Note: If your cdrom drive is not the letter d, replace d with the letter that represents your cdrom drive.
- Follow the directions on the screen. Accept the defaults. Most of the time you will just click on Next or Yes. When asked, answer Yes to restarting the computer now.
After the computer has restarted, you will have a Netscape Communicator button on your desktop.
- Double click on Netscape Communicator off your desktop to activate The Account Setup Wizard.
- Follow the directions on the screen. You will be asked for the following:
- When you come to the window Your Account Access Location: If you are a local call to Allendale, select allcom.net (recommended if local call). If you live in Coopersville, then select allcom.net (Coopersville). Otherwise, choose the allcom.net (GR) which is a Grand Rapids dial-up number. If you are not sure that you are a local call to Allendale, pick up the phone and dial 895-9901. If a computer picks up at the other end, you are a local call to Allendale.
- When you come to the window Your Account Login and Password, put your username in the login name box. Remember your username is all lowercase and does NOT include @allcom.net. Your password is exactly the way you signed it up with us, it can contain lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and numbers.
- When you come to the window Your Email Login and Password, put your full email address(username@allcom.net) in the email login box. Your password should be the same one you entered in the previous window.
- When you come to the window Phone Number Of Your Location, put your area code and the first 3 digits of your telephone number in the telephone number boxes.
